MY EXPERIENCE – BY MS ALAFIA BROWN

Tebbs Second Chances is a foundation based in the United Kingdom founded by Miss Fiona Luke to help less privileged children in Sierra Leone. Since 2008, she has been donating reading books to this school and stationery to the children to enable them to cope with their lessons. Over the years we have donated these items to six different schools and over one thousand children. This project has been a blessing not only to the schools but also to the parents who struggle to make ends meet.

In this fifth year of it’s inception, Miss Fiona Luke has decided to take one step further in her charitable activities by answering to the call for children to go to school. She is sponsoring four children in two different schools to start with, by paying schools fees for a year for each child. We hope to take it further and further each year by bringing more children and schools into the project. My opinion of this project is that the pioneer Miss Fiona Luke is a young lady who has her life ahead of her, but has decided to put it aside to care for and provide for under privileged children so that they can receive quality education just like their peers who are more fortunate.

Furthermore, I wish she could receive more donations so that she can take this very noble and admirable project to heights that can’t be imagined even by the children themselves.

It has been an experience for me to have been a member of the team for the distribution of books and stationery for Tebbs SC and also a member of the sponsorship assessment team which included myself, Osman Edward Kargbo and Mr. Emile Luke.
