TEBBS SC CELEBRATES ITS FIRST YEAR OF EXISTENCE

Wow a year has gone so quickly… On the 9th March 2009 Tebbs Second Chances went live. For me it was a very scary day because up until then I had the option to back out without any one knowing.

First and foremost I want to thank God for his provision in all aspects of this project, for health and strength to carry on fighting through with it. I would like to thank my friends, each and every one of you for your support and kind words which helped to motivate one to push on.

To the donors… thank you very much for all the school supplies … you helped bring smiles to hundreds of kid’s faces at both Lisam School and Bavia School in Freetown Sierra Leone.

To the sponsors of Tebbs, A very big thank you, to you all for everything.

I look back and think of all that has happened in the last year and all I have learnt – and I can safely say it has been great … thank you all once again.

Fiona Luke
Founder TEBBS SC

I can’t believe that TEBBS SC is one. It has been a year filled with activity and achievements for myself and the TEBBS SC team. I feel privileged to have shared this important journey with Fiona and the team and hope that my contribution has made a lasting impact on the lives of the pupils and teachers at Lisam and Bavia schools.

In 2010, we aim to build on the success of our inaugural year and hope to keep improving the education opportunities for more children in Sierra Leone.

For me, going to Sierra Leone to personally distribute the stationery items to the schools was a highlight in 2009. I fell in love with this beautiful country and it’s kind, warm people who all welcomed me with open arms.

It was one of the most memorable weeks of my life and I want to thank everyone who contributed no matter how great or small – we really appreciate your help and generosity. Please do encourage your friends and family to support what TEBBS SC is trying to do by joining our mailing list (info@tebbsc.com) and donating stationery to the cause.

TEBBS SC – I enjoy working on the site. Seeing those children smile when they received their gifts inspired me to do more for my community. Happy first earth day TEBBS SC and well done Fiona – you’re a star!

TEBBS SC – I have been very pleased to be involved with this project. It has been impressive to see how dedicated and enthusiastic Fiona has been in getting this project off the ground and it was good to see that all her efforts were rewarded by the successful completion of the 2009 Stationery Drive.

Starting something new and unknown can be daunting but Fiona managed to weather the highs and lows and maintain focus on what it was she wanted to achieve. I hope that the momentum continues and as many people as possible will become involved and continue to support Tebbs in the future.

TEBBS SC – I was really honored to be asked by Fiona to be part of the Tebbs project – it’s such a great vision! What Fiona has achieved in just one year is amazing and I know it’s way beyond anything she imagined.

It truly is a very worthy cause and just seeing the happiness it brings makes it all worthwhile. I’m convinced that this vision will go from strength to strength and it’s great to be able to play even a small part in making a difference to so many lives.”
