Home/Schools/Past/Hi-Lance Primary School

BACKGROUND

The school was founded by Mr Sebestine Hi-Lance. The vision to start a school came about when he met a group of children playing by a bridge in the Kingtom area where he lived, who should have been in school at that particular time of the day.

He started to hold small classes under a tree and before he knew it, the number of children had grown to the point where it became impractical for him to continue in that fashion.

Hi-Lance School was opened on 1st October 2003 in a small building with 30 students. They have since been evicted from that building.

CURRENT STATUS

The school is currently located in New Street, 7up, Kingtom with 200 students in attendance. The entire school is run in a cramped building with just three rooms, where three or more classes are held in each room with partitions to separate the classes.

In 2007, Hi-Lance began to enter their students for the NPC exams (National Primary School Exams) and they have consistently achieved outstanding results.

The highest pass mark for the school has continued to rise each year and is now just a few marks below the highest national pass mark.
